The Laboratory of Clinical Pediatrics was one of two laboratories, included in the Department of Pediatrics, set up on 10 July 1987. The first head of the laboratory was professor, Dr. Sc. (Med.) Filippov E.S. From 1989 to 1993, professor, Dr. Sc. (Med.) Bregel L.V. headed the Laboratory, from 1993 to 1998, - Cand. Sc. (Med.) Vostrotina Z.I., and from 1998 until 2011 - professor, Dr. Sc. (Med.) Dolgikh V.V.

The main research areas:

• study of the elastic properties of arterial vessels and their associations with cardiometabolic risk factors and patterns of cardiovascular response to aerobic exercise in adolescents;
• cardiometabolic, socio-demographic and psychosomatic correlates of health-related quality of life in adolescents;
• early aspects of the formation of comorbid bonds among major cardivascular and cardiometabolic risk factors in adolescence;
• features of cardiovascular reactivity to cognitive and emotional stress in adolescents with psychosomatic diseases;
• ethnic and territorial aspects of nutrition and diet in adolescents in Eastern Siberia.

The main research results of the members of the Laboratory have been published in well-known Russian and international journals: Problems of Balneology, Physiotherapy, and Exercise Therapy; Bulletin of Siberian Medicine; Obesity and metabolism; Medical News of the North Caucasus; Current Pediatrics; Human Ecology; Clinical Practice in Pediatrics; Therapeutic Archive; Pediatria named after G.N. Speransky; Russian Journal of Cardiology International Journal of Biomedicine; Childhood Obesity, and are also reflected in 5 patents. Since 2011, the laboratory members have defended 2 doctor and 6 candidate dissertations.
