Doctor Oleg B. Ogarkov, PhD, MD, Dr.Sc., is a Director of Institute Epidemiology & Microbiology, Scientific Center for Family Health and Human Reproduction Problems (IEM), Irkutsk, Russia.

Scientific interests: molecular epidemiology; molecular microbiology; tuberculosis; HIV; viral hepatitis.

Doctor Oleg B. Ogarkov as a head researcher of IEM and PI a number international projects deal with studies the molecular epidemiology and microbiology of TB infection and treatment adherence in patients with TB and HIV. He also conducts extensive research on the genetics of viral hepatitis C with collaborators at Irkutsk Medical University.

  • Doctor Oleg B. Ogarkov is a scientific supervisor of 3 Ph.D. students. He is co-author of a number of books devoted to epidemiology of tuberculosis and other social infections. He is a member of the editorial boards of journals: Pediatric Investigation (2096-3726) & Acta Biomedica Scientifica (2541-9420).
